Further Expansion of the Telecommunications Internet Based Network Connection Services Panel
The Telecommunications Internet Based Network Connection Services (IBNC Services) Panel, which was established on 5 July 2011, has been expanded with the following two new additions:
- Verizon Australia Pty Ltd
- Macquarie Telecom Pty Ltd
Further companies may be added to the panel in the near future, as negotiations and contractual arrangements are finalised.
The panel provides access to telecommunications carriage services, including major internet connections. This panel may be accessed through the Department of Finance and Deregulation.
This whole of government panel is mandatory for Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997 (FMA) agencies, and optional for agencies under the Commonwealth Authority and Companies Act 1997 (CAC). State government agencies can use this panel.
The Telecommunications Internet Based Network Connections Services panel has an initial term of three years. The initial term may be extended by the Department of Finance and Deregulation for a further two, twelve-month periods.
Additionally, Macquarie Telecom Pty Ltd became the 60th business to become a signatory to the Principles of Engagement. The Principles provide business and Government with clear expectations of the required standards and behaviours when working together.
