The Telecommunications Internet Based Network Connection Services (IBNC Services) Panel, which was established on 5 July 2011, has been expanded with the following three new additions:
Optus Networks Pty Limited;
AAPT Limited; and
Nextgen Networks Pty Ltd.
This evening 25 ICT Cadets and Apprentices celebrated their graduation from the Australian Government ICT Entry level program. These Apprentices and Cadets have now gained their ICT qualification after spending the last 18 months to three years working in an Australian Government agency while also studying.
I am pleased to announce the finalists for this year’s 2011 ICT Young Professional of the Year Award.

The Australian Government ICT Entry-level Programs provide an exciting opportunity for people who are interested in beginning a career in ICT to learn technical skills and theories, as well as gain a formal qualification and valuable workplace experience.
You might remember that in May last year, we released the Government and Industry Principles of Engagement on ICT. We developed these principles in close consultation with the Australian Information Industry Association and the Australian Industry Group.
The Telecommunications Internet Based Network Connections Services Panel has been established. The initial panel members are:

A number of companies may be added to the panel in the near future, as negotiations and contractual arrangements are finalised.
The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) has released draft versions of WCAG 2.0 techniques to support PDF and Silverlight and has issued a call for review. AGIMO are particularly interested in the draft PDF techniques for WCAG 2.0.
On 14 June 2011 the Department of Finance and Deregulation (Finance) announced the establishment of the Telecommunications Management Panel (TMAN). Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) has a requirement to refresh their Customer Contact Centre and the TMAN Panel is being considered as the contracting framework to source a service provider to deliver their requirement.
